7th September – Concert by Northern Harmony (a choir from Vermont USA)
For those who were unable to attend the event, which continued afterwards at the Kingsdon Inn, here are just a few photographs from what was an excellent concert.
First formed in 1993, Northern Harmony has since gained a wide reputation thru concert tours across the US, the UK and western Europe. The ensemble is part of Village Harmony, a Vermont- based world music organization that sponsors domestic & international performance singing camps, workshops and tours.
The sixteen brilliant Northern Harmony singers, led by Larry Gordon, present a thrilling mix of world harmony traditions including South African songs and dances, traditional polyphony from Georgia, Corsica, and the Balkans, American shape-note singing and quartet gospel, and renaissance motets.
