The village shop has now moved into the orginal Victorian schoolroom.
Some years ago this beautiful space was divided up into three rooms to suit the needs of the school, meaning that the shop was squashed into Ye Olde Computer Room as the largest space available.
Removing the partions and taking up the carpet revealed a fabulous close boarded floor which has been restored and is now a favourite feature of the new shop.
The shop stayed open throughout the restoration and more work still remains to be done. Once this is finished and the shop has settled in to the new space there will be a celebration event to which everyone will be invited!
Just over 2 years ago Kingsdon was without a village shop following the closure of the previous store after the retirement of the owner, so we have come a very long way in a relatively short time.
