Kingsdon benefits from Somerset Take Art, a pioneering arts charity that champions making arts experiences of the highest quality accessible in rural areas. Our village organisers (Brian and Gill Paine and Richard and Julie South) help to advertise and set up touring shows which bring memorable and often unusual entertainment to our village venues.
Northern Harmony are sixteen sparkling young singers from Vermont USA and this time All Saints’ church was agreed to offer the best acoustics for their fascinating mix of traditional harmony singing in a range of world ethnic music styles. Well over 100 people came along to what was agreed to be a fantastic event which raised £650 for church funds.
Take Art artists often need overnight accommodation, but despite there being so many of them it was easy to find willing hosts in the village to provide bed and breakfast for all sixteen of them.
