tea party in the village hall

The village hall was patriotically ‘dressed overall’ to provide a colourful venue for our tea party to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday. Organised ably by the ladies club, tea was laid for both villagers and any of their wider family who might be visiting at the weekend.

This was a lovely event which allowed villagers time to catch up with each others news and to eat the wonderful food all donated by residents.  Some memorable lemon drizzle cake (you know who you are) was matched by all sorts of sandwiches and other savoury and sweet goodies and, of course, endless tea… although some people brought their own supplies of something a little stronger in order to to justice to the toast to the Queen which was proposed by Wally Elliott.
